Viking Pump 224A – Jacketed Heavy Duty U-Seal

Viking Pump’s 224A Series internal gear pump heat rapidly and efficiently using steam or hot oil, making it an ideal solution for heavy fuel oil, waxes, and rubber. This rugged, reliable, economical pump can handle flows up to 500 GPM (114 m³/h).

This cast iron universal pump series is available in a wide range of sizes and options to suit almost any non-corrosive application. The stuffing box on all sizes accepts packing, numerous component single mechanical seals, or a wide variety of cartridge seals.

Jacketed pumps are designed with a cavity, or jacket, on the external wall of the pump. Steam or heat transfer liquid can be passed through the pump to control the temperature of the fluid in the pump. The heat transfer medium flows in a closed loop back to the boiler or heater. Applications include “melting” ambient temperature solids like asphalt that solidify in the pump when it cools, as well as maintaining precise temperature control in processes like manufacturing polymers and epoxy resins.

Viking Pump’s 224A series pumps feature a jacketed design for steam, hot oil, or water circulation to maintain a constant temperature. Integral jacket chambers in the bracket and head surround the seal and pump internals for rapid & efficient heating.
