Wilden AODD Pump Parts, Diaphragms & Pulsation Dampeners

Genuine OEM Wilden  Pump Parts are critical to ensure your pumps are operating at optimal performance and to preserve your Wilden factory warranty.

Pirated parts lower your flow rates, cause more frequent breakdowns and reduce operational safety.  Be sure you are getting only Wilden parts by ordering directly from Edelmann.  Learn how to tell the difference between Genuine OEM and Pirated Parts.

Wilden Pump Diaphragms

Selecting the right pump diaphragm significantly impacts the operation and reliability – mean time between failure (MTBF), application safety, and operational efficiency and consistency.  Diaphragms are constantly in motion during an AODD pump’s operation, so any breakdowns or failures result in costly and potentially hazardous product leaks.

Selection considerations include:

  • Abrasion Resistance
  • Chemical Resistance
  • Temperature Ranges
  • Sanitary Standards
  • Inlet Condition
  • Life
  • Cost

Edelmann recommends Wilden diaphragms, which are available in three materials of construction.Wilden-pump-diaphragms

Rubber

  • Neoprene: use with water/wastewater chemicals
  • Buna-N: ideal for oil-and-gas applications
  • EPDM: best for ketones and aldehydes, and acetates
  • FKM: ideal for aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons

TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomers)

  • Polyurethane: best in water/wastewater applications
  • Wil-Flex™: ideal for water/wastewater and handling ketones and aldehydes
  • Saniflex™: for aromatic hydrocarbons

PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene)

Ideal in all chemical-handling applications across many industries

Wilden diaphragms are also available in Full-Stroke, Integral Piston and EZ-Install designs, all of which are available in materials of construction that make them usable in fluid-transfer applications that have chemical-compatibility concerns.  Please consult with Edelmann or review the Chemical Guide before making a diaphragm selection.

Wilden Integral Piston Diaphragms

Wilden’s integral piston design has created a new class of diaphragms that can can meet demands for flow-rate, suction-lift and efficiency, while eliminating abrasion related damage.  Chem-Fuse Diaphragms are designed for chemical requirements and Pure-Fuse Diaphragms designed for sanitary requirements.  Read more about selecting the Best AODD Pump Diaphragms

Wilden Integral Piston Diaphragms (IPDs) feature a one-piece design that offers a safe, clean and reliable product transfer with no product entrapment areas to minimize product contamination and risk liabilities. These diaphragms have a smooth, contoured shape and no outer piston. IPDs have greater durability and flex life, and are compatible with existing shafts and supporting hardware. They also provide greater flow rates and faster installation, all without sacrificing performance.

  • Up to 100% increased flow and suction lift compared to PTFE laminate diaphragms
  • Elimination of a potential leak point at the outer piston when pumping product
  • Elimination of outer-piston abrasion for longer life, especially when pumping abrasive fluids
  • No adhesive used in diaphragm construction unlike competitive one-piece diaphragms
  • Easy cleanability for faster changeovers between product

Wilden Pulsation Surge Dampeners

Edelmann highly recommends the Wilden Equalizer® Surge Dampener to eliminate the variable pulsation of AODD pumps, creating a smooth consistent flow for your process.  These dampeners:

  • Minimize pressure fluctuation
  • Prevent water hammer and associated damage
  • Self-adjust to varying system pressures
  • Minimize spare parts inventory
  • Offer a large solids capacity
  • Can be configured to meet ATEX II 2 GD X requirements for use in potentially explosive atmospheres
  • Helps reduce maintenance and repair costs

The Equalizer® Surge Dampener SD Series creates laminar (constant) process flow by reducing or eliminating pump pulsation, which is critical in retaining pump and piping integrity. SD Equalizers use the same air as the pump to counter the flow rate and discharge-pressure changes within the system.

Surge dampeners are specific to your material, size, and diaphragm, as listed below.  Edelmann can help you make the right selection.

Material:

  • Aluminum
  • Ductile Iron
  • Polypropylene
  • PVDF
  • Stainless Steel

Size:

  • 0.5″ (13 mm)
  • 1″ (25 mm)
  • 2″ (51 mm)
  • 3″ (76 mm)

Diaphragm:

  • Buna
  • PTFE
  • Santoprene

Wilden Safeguard IIoT Pump Monitor

The Wilden SafeGuard™ is the industry’s first AODD Internet of Things (IoT) enabled remote performance monitoring and alert solution. SafeGuard is an all-inclusive monitoring system that tracks, records and alerts customers to key AODD pump performance indicators at all times of operation via continuous Cloud connectivity as a way to address and prevent operational shortcomings that can result in costly pump failures.

Wilden-Safeguard-device-process

The design and operation of the SafeGuard system allows for complete monitoring and real-time alerts related to a number of critical performance parameters for the pump (diaphragms, balls, seats). These readings can show the user such things as:

  • Leak detection to indicate diaphragm leaks and failures, preventing product loss and safety hazards
  • Stroke rates to monitor changes to highlight performance abnormalities
  • Stroke count for batching and setting maintenance schedules
  • Real-time alerts via SMS or email to indicate any noteworthy change in operation that may be a precursor to pump or component failure
  • Maintenance records that can indicate patterns and help manage preventative maintenance plans
  • Management of an entire fleet of AODD pumps within one dedicated software system
